1 Jul (Ezekiel 21-25)

Ezekiel 21

God is declaring His judgment upon Israel and Judah. It was God's desire to have Him be the King of the Jews, and to have them seek Him for guidance and rule. Unfortunately, they wanted to be like everyone else, and have a mortal and sinful man reign over them.

I take this moment to remind my kids that once we're His, we are set apart. We are different from the rest of the world, but that's a good thing. It should be our desire to have Him guide and rule our lives, not any man.

Ezekiel 23

I take caution reading this chapter with young kids, since it's very graphic and for mature ears only. However, there is a way to explain this chapter for young kids...both Israel and Judah didn't seek God to rule them, and they disobeyed God by mingling with the pagan countries surrounding them. God was angered and He brought judgment upon them by those pagan countries.

Ezekiel 24

(v.13) Once we are justified to God by faith in His Son, we are cleansed of all sins. However, we need to live our lives as righteously as we can, for our sins are seen by others. If we call ourselves Christian, then we need to represent our King correctly.
