Feb 2 (Num 10-12)

Numbers 10

At this point, God has instructed Israel on how to erect and move the Tabernacle, and now they are about to begin their journey to the Promised Land.

(v.29) This verse is a mirror of our lives as believers. We are pilgrims and sojourners here on this earth, and we are proceeding to the Promised Land (heaven). Along the way, we are to invite and encourage others to join us...to be saved in Christ.

Numbers 11

God provides again for the Israelites. They were sick of God providing only manna out of heaven. The word "manna" means "what is it?" So they ask for meat, and they get more than they bargained for! This is another one of those lessons where we should be grateful for what God provides us, and not complain for what we don't have. It's humorous and interesting at the same time. God provides for us with heavenly food...His Son who is the bread of life!!!

We will see that the Jews murmured and complained many times in the Wilderness. It's easy for us to criticize them, but we do the same thing. After all, when hard times hit us, we often ask God, "Why me?" And when things get boring or mundane, we complain that life isn't interesting enough. Whenever I feel like that, all I have to do is witness to a stranger, and it gets real interesting right away! Life is NEVER dull if we are doing God's work!

Numbers 12

Moses' sister, Miriam, lets pride and envy enter into their relationship, and God gets angry withe her and Aaron. God speaks to all of us, but not in the same way. God chose Moses to be His representative on earth. God was revealing Himself to the world through Moses. He ultimately did this through His Son, Jesus.

God hates pride...that's what brought Satan and his angels down, and has all of us turn from God in one way or another. We need to be content with what God gives us, and how He speaks with us.
