2 Aug (Esther 5)

Esther 5

(v.2) Esther stepped out in faith...knowing that she could have been killed for approaching the king without being invited. I teach my kids, that if our principles and morals are on the line, then we must defend them...no matter the cost. God prepares us for moments that affect our lives and others' lives...we need to answer the call and step out in faith that God will guide us.
Rom 8:31

(v.6) As we can see, Esther has a king who loves her, and is willing to listen!

(v.8) Esther doesn't lay it on the king right then...she waits to have him even more on her side and willing to listen, and she has time to plan her words. Of course, even in the most sudden situations, the Holy Spirit can give us the words that we never would've thought of!

(v.9) Now we see why Esther waited...she wanted Haman to believe that he was important and honored. It's easy to puff up a proud person!

(v.13) This is important to point out to our kids...Haman was just promoted and given a great place of honor, but all he can think about is one Jewish man who wouldn't give him homage. This shows us Haman's heart...he was proud and his evil heart produced hatred in spite of all the wonderful things that were happening to him.
