1st Kings 20
King Ahab was a bad king for many reasons, one is that he was so willing to give the women and children to the king of Aram. But the silver and gold, no way! I can't believe he valued stones more than the women and children of Israel.
(v.13) Unlike David, Ahab doesn't call upon the LORD, but the LORD send a prophet to speak to Ahab. To Ahab's credit, he listens to the prophet and obeys. Because of his obedience, he wins the battle.
(v.22) God tells Ahab that he will have to fight the king of Aram again.
(v.34) Ahab obeys until the end, when he lets the king of Aram live. God gets angry when we only obey partially...He wants us to trust and obey Him completely.
(v.42) There are consequences for our actions...even if we repent, God is just, and He has to have justice for our evil deeds. Fortunately, His Son took care of that for us on the cross, and our faith in Him saves us from our sins!
